The Vineyard Landscapes of Piedmont: A World Heritage Created by Humanity and Nature Together
In 2014, at the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee in Doha, "The Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato" was officially inscribed as a cultural World Heritage Site. This was Italy's 50th World Heritage Site, and a confirmation of the outstanding universal value of this cultural agricultural landscape.
The Scope of the Property: Six Components, Diverse Landscapes
This World Heritage property is located in southern Piedmont, between the Po River and the Ligurian Apennines. It comprises five distinctive grape-growing areas and one castle, namely:
